Week 12 Dart Action

The Eagles Hall X-Men failed to find a full roster to bring to the oche last Tuesday night, cancelling with the Eagles Hall Double Eagles moments before the deadline.  Both teams are optimistic they will be able to play the make up game over the Christmas break.

Meeting at the Parksville Legion, the Bristle Bashers hosted the Parksville Legion Dart Legends to a fast-paced night of darts.  The Bashers were in winning-mode as they peppered the dart boards with doubles through three sets of doubles and four of the five singles in the first singles sets.  Dart Legend captain, Jolene Swanson, pinned a double sixteen before her worthy opponent, Warren Potter, to break the Basher streak.  Two of the Bristle Bashers left the venue undefeated at the end of the night.  Ken Hayes and Steve Collins, both undefeated, also shared the title of top score for the night – 140.  Leading the wins for the Dart Legends, Rod Swindell pulled three wins away from the dominating darters.  Legend Ken Ermantrout hit a 132 in his first match and Kevin Gillingham pinned a 106 out in his final match of the night and landed himself on the Leader Board.

The Eagles Hall Eagle Eyes couldn’t muster the minimum five players to play their match against the QB Legion Short Sighted Crew, giving the Crew captain plenty of notice to postpone.  Again, a friendly reminder that it is up to the HOME team to let the venue know the game is cancelled and the CANCELLING team captain to let me know that I don’t have to go out repeatedly in the pouring rain to collect a scoresheet that is not coming.

Playing at the QB Legion, the Morningstar Triples welcomed the PV Legion Respect-A-Bulls to thirty-three games of darts.  The home team struggled from the get-go, winning one match in all but one of the seven sets of darts.  Leading the wins for the home team, Triple Keith Reimer doubled out first in two of his five singles and Dynamite Denise Tabler hit a 132 in the first doubles match, the one they won.  Leading the wins for the Respect-A-Bulls was a tie for Joe Fortune and Tom Ayley, both leaving the venue undefeated in their six singles matches.   Joe was top scorer for the team, hitting a 140 half way through the match.  Captain Anita Hopps landed herself on the top of the Women’s High Outs with an impressive 108 out in her match against Brody Jenkinson.

Spreading out across the six boards at the Eagles Hall, the Eagles Hall Straight Arrows hosted the QB Legion Shooters last Tuesday night.  The home team Arrows were evenly matched with the Shooters until mid-way through the match.  The Shooters pulled out their best darts and grabbed a commanding lead over their opponents and despite a push-back in the final set, the Shooters were in the lead at the end of the night.  Leading the wins for the Straight Arrows, Mike Beno was undefeated in his five singles games.  Shane Ovington pinned the team high score of 140 in his second match of the night, while playing Shooter Rocky Paquette, helping him win the match in the end.  Leading the wins for the Shooters, Lee Page and Larry MacDonald lost only to Mike Beno in their five singles played.  Larry topped the team scores with a 110 in his winning match against Poul Reimer.
