Two of the three matches this week ended in the same results – 24 to 9.

First to get whitewashed, the Allwood Finishers met the Bristle Bashers at the Eagles Hall. It all started off well enough, Captain Jolene Swanson – with a set-up from partner Larry Fuller – hit a remarkable 75 out against Terry Strawson and Noella Ross, in the doubles match – but not much else happened for Jolene after that. Larry Fuller went on to win four of his six matches, hitting scores of 140, 123, 101 and 100. High score for the Finishers went to Mike Jacobs – a whopping 153! Bristle Bashers’ Richard Rempel and Steve Collins won all five of their matches. Terry Strawson hit a 140 to get high score for the Bashers, and Don Enockson had an 83 check out on his only win of the evening.

Second match with the same final score, the Parksville Legion Bulls Hitters, met at the Qualicum Legion to out double the Warriors 24 to 9. Leading the wins for the Bulls Hitters, Alan Farmer, didn’t miss a double out all night! Right behind Alan, Bernie Brockway, Angie Kienas and Peter “Spinksy” Spinks each won four of five matches. High score for the Hitters went to Ray Jones, who shot a 135 and a 102. Failing to “get into the groove”, Larry MacDonald and Chad Trouton were the top winners for the Warriors – each winning two of five matches. High scorer for the Warriors was Chad “Fish” Trouton with a 140 and a 121.

The third match of the week was a bit more evenly won between the Parksville Legion Shooters and the Qualicum Legion Short Sighted Crew, ending in a 19-14 win for the Crew. Starting off strong, The Crew kept up the pressure until the last two sets, when the Shooters to seven of the ten available points. Top wins for the Crew went to Greg Simmons with five of his six matches to his favour, with top scores of 140x2, 100x5. Ernie Berrow shot a 134, 121 and 114.
